FS100 PICTURE PROFILE RECOMMENDATION for these 3 kind of shots

lets go over this again, a positive or negative value on the slope makes the knee less like an upside down J and more like /

I am after I think the knee that is most like /

which I consider to be 105 as inverted J slope kicks in least ??

This is from the manual p59.

Does this mean knee has no effect when using CINE gammas?

When selecting [CINE1], [CINE2], [CINE3], [CINE4] or [STILL] in [GAMMA], [KNEE] is
set to [OFF] even if [MODE] is set to [AUTO]. To use functions in [KNEE], set [MODE] to
[MANUAL].

we are discussing FS100 profiles, I understand the FS700 profiles are sufficiently different to make comparison impossible.

@Sam

+ve values make the slope more like /.

The Cine curves are very flat after the knee so you must never go -ve otherwise your highlights will lack graduations and be a amorphous lump of meh. If you have been using -ve values then that'll be why you are getting posterisation around highlights because the curve is too flat and therefore not enough samples between brightness levels.

Yeah, classic bad technical writing.... "even if [MODE] is set to [AUTO]"...?

However, I interpret that to mean that with CINE gamma and knee mode set to AUTO, there is no knee... with CINE gamma and knee mode set to MANUAL, you can set up the knee manually.

You are correct. When set to manual you can add Knee. It is very obvious on a waveform monitor.

Sorry to comment about the 700 in your 100 conversation. But are the 700 settings not available now with the 100 FW upgrade.

I have just spent about 6 hrs trying every setting available in the 700 looking at scopes and eval monitor. You have a lot of adjustments and it is easy to bake in a look. But I would love to have more control over the gamma curve. Curves would be nice in color adjustments as well.
