No doubt, just like when many discovered the magic of tight depth of field with DSLRs. All everyone would post were videos of rack focus after rack focus. Forget story or content. Just rack that focus!
This somehow made their videos more "filmic."
 
Like I said, the new go to music video camera. Barring that it's the only one in this arena come NAB.

Being able to get 4:2:2 out of the sdi solves low budget greenscreen work.
 
Can't wait to see what the slow mo quality looks like. I'll use the GH2 for taking anywhere, Scarlet for important things at 4k or 3k up to 48fps. The FS700 is perfect to fill the slow motion gap

Could you tell us more about sharpness? On this example there is too much compression to tell. To me it looks just as good as a 5D (for sharpness)
Sharpness is very important for me. I'm about to buy a Scarlet for this reason. Owning myself a FS100 I'm very interested with the FS700.
I'm sure at 4K it will be very sharp but in full hd how is it? if we could get some stills of the shots it would be very cool.

Do you know what the reason for that is? I thought the HDMI out on the FS100 was 10-bit (abet it being some non-standard Sony thing), I would have assumed they would have kept the 10-bit architecture and made the HD-SDI 10-bit like the HDMI was on the FS100...

No, the FS100 is also 8-bit out. The nonstandard part was that they added timecode to the HDMI output (HDMI by design spec doesn't include timecode, so Sony had to come up with a way to wedge it in).,

They did keep it the same as the FS100. You're just mistaken in thinking the FS100 is 10-bit, it's 8-bit...
 
Judging from Vimeo it looks like on par with the GH2. Very good! A little overshapended maybe. Unlike on the FS100 it might be better to turn down sharpness on the FS700. Cannot wait to get this camera!

Thanks Bruce.

Will be around for the next couple of days to answer any questions I can on the above film. Camera was great to use and there's no doubt that I'll be upgrading to one based on my experience using this pre production version.
 
What´s your opinion on the resolution of the camera, hangman?
Does it achieve 1000+ lines, like the F3 and C300? Compared to FS100?
