FS-100 won't start properly

Yes, my batter is charged. I have 2 of these and I'm out of the country shooting a doc. One works fine. The other won't turn on properly. Sometimes no display comes on and the fan keeps blowing. The status light is red. Other times the menu comes up but freezes after 20 or 30 seconds. This was long enough for me to attempt a system reset, but that did nothing. It still froze up. After it freezes, if I try to hold the "on" button down, it won't come back on. It just goes back to the blank screen with fan blowing. Holding the "off" button won't even turn the thing off. I don't know what's wrong and I'm losing my mind. It's going to be nearly impossible to shoot this with only one FS-100. I bought a second one so we could interchange them throiughout the day and not lose any time.

Another thing that seems strange is that the screen turns blue when turning on. My other FS-100 turns green. Could be nothing, but maybe it's not. Someone please help.

Was there any solution to this problem or did you have to just send the unit in for repairs? My firestore just started doing the same thing at the end of the second week of production on my feature, and I am going to be using up the rest of my budget on renting more p2 cards/another firestore just to stay on my very tight schedule.

I have found a few very time and effort consuming workarounds that allow me to see the screen long enough (so I can set to record pause and shoot for the day as long as the unit isn't turned off/organize the p2/set to dd drive) but are too excruciatingly long of processes to be used for the rest of my shoot. One prob that is pretty absurd is that the regular battery can be used, but the unit won't even turn on with the extended life battery plugged in. I've restarted the unit and upgraded it, but still nothing.

Looks like I'm going to have to rent some more p2 cards/another firestore unless this problem can be fixed without having to ship the unit into the factory.

Guys,
I have just returned my FS-100 ....
it was not staring up and when it did, it said No disk detected..
i sent it to focus they took a look at it.
they said they reprogrammed the board...
they sent it to me ,, it did the same thing..
I just sent it back for a replacement...
this thing burned me on 2 productions...
I am not happy with this product..
Spend your money wisely and buy P2 cards

I've been shooting with a FS-100 for over seven months without an issue.

However, some people have issues.

But did yours ever start up correctly?
