FS-100 Quicktime PN Error! Please Help!

I shot a bunch of interviews at 720 24p, recorded to the FS-100 in quicktime PN mode. Twice the FS-100 stopped saying it was full, though as soon as I pushed record again it worked fine. Anyone now why this might happen?

Then, once I transfered the files onto my hard drive, I was unable to import them or play them. I only got a general error message, somethign along the lines of "this quicktime movie can not be opened." Is there a codec I need, or a firmware update?

Thanks for any help...

Gotcha

Gotcha

I'm pretty sure it's version 3. My producer bought it used and it came with the disk for version 3, but I can't be certain it was installed. I am missing the manual, how can I check what version I have. I think I may re-install just to be safe.
Assuming it is version 3, do you have any idea why the audio would be off or my quicktime files wouldn't import? I tested again today. Footage captures to the FS-100 fine, but upon import the audio is off sync.

Updated firmware-still no luck

Updated firmware-still no luck

I wasn't positive the firmware had been updated, so i went ahead and performed the update today, reset it, etc.

I was able to shoot to the FS-100 in P2 mode and in Quicktime mode, but in trying to to capture in P2PN or Quicktime PN I experienced the same problems (P2PN has a major audio sync issue, and Quicktime files give a general error saying they can't be opened, or imported).

Also, when I imported the normal P2 and quicktime files my powerbook g4 had some trouble playing them in FCP. Playing them through Quicktime worked fine, but FCp lagged a lot. Is that normal?

Thanks for all this help (I'm in Mongolia shooting in 3 days, so all of your answers and support have been the saving grace to my fears!)

Did you do the organize p2 function?

As to playing on your PB through FCP, what dedicated media drive are you using? You aren't attempting playback from the internal drive?

And what did you shoot? 1080 or 720? That also affects playback in FCP.

Yep & yep

Yep & yep

Yeah, made sure to organize P2 before importing.

I am not playing off the internal HD-it's coming off a maxtor external drive through an 8 to 8 firwire. The drive is new and intended for video.

Shot it all in 720 24p....
