I have encountered a similar red exclamation mark issue as 'liquid lights' thread. Some clips won't import from the firestore FS-100 into FCP 6.0. log and transfer import.
Summary:
Before import, the utilities menu I organized P2. After I had trouble, I organized reels.
30-40 takes were shot with HVX200 capturing to the FS-100. The DP ran into some trouble with his external remote that over-rided HVX200 controls so he was stopping and starting the takes using the firestore controls rather than the rec/stop from the HVX200 camera.
Instead of 30-40 takes, on import only 9 clips show up, but the takes appear to be clustering. Also all the clips repeat twice in the import menu 18 clips total. Each clip is repeated twice. Normally when you start and stop on HVX200 the clips are divided. For example, one clip is 5 min long bunching many 5-10sec clips into a single stream of video. Firestore settings were 720PN/24P.
I can play all the clips from the firestore. They are all at a normal rate from the log window. One clip 8 sec long imported fine. One clip 2 min long imported fine. The other 7 clips have a red exclamation.
Hardware
* 2x 3ghz dual core intel xeon
* 9 gigs memory
* Latest quicktime installed
* Latest OSX update installed
*FS-100 [ II believe FS-100 is up to date 3.0.0 in setup menu. I don’t know exactly how to check that.]
*FCP 6.0
We have tried several of the recommended solutions. Restarted.
Copied the firestore to a local drive. Same errors. Seeing the local copy produces identical results. I tried 'liquid light's' copy replace the LASTCLIP.TXT file from the firestore to the local copy. That didn’t work. The LASTCLIP.TXT file on the firetsore is 32k and the local LASTCLIP.TXT file is 3k. But when I replace it stays the same file size.
I'm note sure if this was caused by 1) the recording method 2) the FS-100 data structure issue 3) FCP 6 issue
Should I repair clips on firestore? Will that delete clips? I’m not sure what to do next.
Why are there duplicates? Why are the clips running all together? I tried to read similar issues on the forum before posting. I hope I am not repeating.
Thanks.
