Ok here's the deal.. I'm new to this whole DTE system. I have a few questions (probably easy to answer) but this is driving me nuts.

1. When i'm recording to the fs-100 should I be recording P2 or Raw DV?
2. How do I import or convert the .xmf files so they can be used in FCP?

1) Record P2
2) After shooting but before mounting to computer, run Organize P2 from FS-100 menu
3) Put FS-100 in HDD mode
4) Plug into firewire port on Mac and wait for FS-100 to mount
5) Import the footage into FCP with Import -> Panasonic P2.

I prefer to copy the contents to a hard drive rather than import from the FS-100 since those MXF files are your masters.
