FS-100 1080i to DVCPro50 Tape

I hope someone can help. I am trying to sort out a workflow solution for a client. They are shooting on an FS-100 @1080i. They want to transfer it to DVCPRO50 for ingest into an Avid Offline system. I did suggest they shoot in the DVCPro50 format, however they want the original to be in HD. The final master will also be DVCPro50. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If they're going out to DVCPro 50 I don't see a point in shooting HD, especailly Interlaced. It's just a waste of space on the P2 cards if you're going to 50. If they ever wanted to goto HD then yeah, shoot it HD; but going to 50 is just pointless to shoot HD. And if they're wanting to offline in 50 and then have the final product in 50 why offline? Just go straight through and do an online edit right away. You could even edit DVCPro 50 on Avid Express Pro HD.
