I've got a couple of GH13's and as far as I can determine everything is set on manual yet I still get an automatic aperture adjustment (or could it be an ISO adjustment?)

I shoot on M
AVCHD
FHD
Exposure mode M
I. Exposure off

14 - 140mm

the problem with Creative movie mode is that I need to use the manual setting for low light receptions and why would the creative movie mode be more 'manual' that the manual mode?

Unless you go CMM and select M, you will always have auto ISO in the normal PASM still dial settings. CMM will not allow auto Iso in full CMM Manual setting!

Because in manual mode the ISO switches to auto when you press the record button. Look at the LCD screen and you will see it switch from whatever it is set to say 340 ISO to AUTO. In creative MM the ISO stays at what you preset it to. Your video above confirms ISO is changing when you pan further into the church away from the light through the door.

oops posted at the same time.

Besides the creative movie mode tidbit, 14-140 is vari aperture. If you are setting it at max aperture, it does change aperture as you zoom. That might affect exposure even if you set it at the full manual.

God I love forums!
the beginning of a 'collective memory'

thanks guys

Still treading water here in Qld, been up to neckhole for a month. .....lucky i shoot mostly ON water hey.

I thought that if the camera is set to "M", movies are shot in full auto (not just auto iso).

i shoot from these settings also and the automatic adjust is a little annoying, i think if you go into the menu and change the exposure mode to S (shutter priority) it enables you the use of the AF/AE LOCK button, when exposed for a low light area the button can be held down while you pan to a light area and the exposure settings are held the same until you release the button.

not sure if helps any as i think it may only work on manual lenses with a manual aperture ring.
