man, why does everyone worry about the scene files/plugins/programs/blahblahblah... it's all about lighting/***imagination*** and what you yourself do with the camera that you have. your talent speaks for yourself. it seems like everyone is lookin' for answers to help the process. find what works for you and go with it. i personaly think it doesn't matter if you shoot with hi-8 or come on here shootin the **** ;D keep at it, and do what works for YOU...

Which fps are you shooting in- 24,30 or 60?

i assume he is shooting in 30 or 60 due to the slomotion.

Kane, you are 100% right.

Everyone else: he shot 24pA all the time that I was there, which was only during part of the shoot. It's not slow motion, it's just style! (So far as I know, unless twixtor got involved in the post production process.)

The scene file settings were changed regularly, and were closest to f5 but with the master ped often a bit lower (-6 to -10 I believe) and lots of messing with the colors to get them to look right. I saved some (I think I've deleted them by now) and they're nothing special... I tried using them later, and they were definitely not magic.

Then I tried lighting my scenes more carefully and doing color processing in post. Even with my basic knowledge of lighting, stuff started looking a whole lot better. There are no easy answers or magic plug ins. Trust me, I've been looking for them for years.

I actually liked the song, it's something of a fresh genre to me... a bit of techno mixed with... something... Stevin Knight? I think I'll buy one of his CDs when i see one...

LOL!

By the way, I did no notice all the plugins eveybody mentioned about. A lot of messing up with time (twixtor?) and blurring in/outs...

I think he looks gay in the white setting. He insisted on wearing eye shadow and layers of makeup. I wanted him in black with the white background but he insisted on white. It gets worse when he rips off the sleeves. :o I used Twixor, but it sucks. I now use RealVis Re Timer. It works decently 1 out of every 50 shots. Use Twixtor if you shoot 60i, it looks great. Otherwise its worthless. I have no Vegas plug-ins, there arent many out there anyways.

Yeah i know why all to well. "Come direct this video for me... but i want this that and the other thing but wait, change this and that and the other thing.
A week later...
I want to shoot again so can change this that and the other thing.
The next thing you know is you dont want to work on the project anymore because all of the creativity has been skunked to nothing.

now that i think about it, not only his music is super gay but because Matt's done such a good job, I had to close my eyes to "hear" that it was a gay song. good Job Matt.
