FREE Webinar on DSLR Shortform Weddings

Hi Veteran2010Tor,

Don't worry about sounding negative. I did not take it that way. Personally, I don't produce 1.5 to 2 hour wedding films, but there are many who do. And again, this is a personal thing, but I don't find 30 minutes too long, but then again, I take into account what happened on the day, how much they had us cover and what the clients wishes are.

We don't make clients fit into a 20 minute box, but at the same time, if they are wanting a two hour video, we are probably not the right company for them.

I do actually know what props means , but thanks for making sure I knew. Thanks for the kind words and taking the time to post.

Haha Mark you rock! I guess I shouldn't say 20min *max* as I am a firm believer in letting the edit be what it *needs* to be.

Up to now I just haven't had to go beyond that as it usually ends up between 15-20. Indian weddings on the other hand are up to a week long and I would love to tackle one of those soon just for the challenge and beautiful ceremonies involved.

I guess each market is different but the demographic I go after wants what we deliver...a mini movie. Anyone who would want 1hr plus from me I would probably suggest another videographer! =)

Keep up the good work, I love seeing colleagues fostering a sense of community by sharing the knowledge.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the web cast. You talked about dumbing down the DSLRs to better match the HMC. This is exactly where I am at now - trying to come up with good DSLR settings to match my HMCs.

Can you tell us more about what changes you made?

Thanks

Hi Exact,

You are welcome. I have been backing off the sharpness, contrast and saturation of the DSLRs and as long as the scene is not super dark, it makes a pretty good match. An advantage with shooting with the HMC150s is that they already have a really nice look to them.

Mark, that link in the email doesnt take me to video. It just takes me to a page to test out my computer to see if ita capable of viewing or not.

Same problem. I am currently not able to see the video now even though I registered two days ago. And when I received the updated link over email, it only shows a page where I can test my computer too

The link that was listed for the webinar was only for the live version. It will not allow you to see the archived version. When the link for the archived version is published I will post it here.

Oh interesting... I had my IE window open on the webinar page all night. Today I find a button at the bottom of the page which actually lets me watch the presentation!
