Free Sony DigitalMaster HDV tapes

I don't know if this is widely known or not, but Sony s having a promotion where they are giving away 5 DigitalMaster HDV tapes to anyone who has recently bought ANY new pro HD camera.

I myself only use Panasonic tape -- but since its free I've ordered it anyway in anticipation of trading with someone else that likes it.

Sony Rejecting claims

Sony Rejecting claims

Several of my friends have had their claims rejected by Sony for bizzarre reasons. One of them was rejected because the receipt had the serial number of the unit hand written on the receipt by the selling vender. Apparently the Sony customer service rep claimed all receipts submitted under the program must contain machine imprinted serial numbers on them. Of course this is not stated in the terms and conditions of the offer. When my friend offered to photograph the original box, camera, registration card and receipt the
Sony rep still declined to accept the claim. He even said he would send the whole kit to them for verification and that was not good enough. My buddy is now waiting for the selling vendor to redo the receipt with the serial number machine written on the receipt. What a hassle for the vendor and my friend.
