Is the 299 Magic Bullet the same one they ship with Vegas 5 + DVD?

The software packages will be in our Glendale office on Monday 8/2/04. Please don't worry about emailing or calling for the software. Every DVX purchase in July is on a list, and will receive a software piece. We got one for one, one camera sold = one software piece. We will begin to mail them out to everyone on Tuesday 8/3/04.

Well we've talked about how some ppl bought the camera to early to be eligable for the special but not about too late. Is there a time limit like only for the month of July or will it still be offered after that. Just wondering since I might buy the AGDVXA from EVS pretty soon. Or does nobody know when the special ends. Thanks.

No, the Vegas one has only 5 looks, (plus you can upgrade for free to get another 5). The $299 one has 50 looks, plus is customizable.

The $1000 version has all that, plus a 24P simulator and video de-artifactor.

I am plannning on running this promotion through the end of October with the right to continue it after that.

I just spoke with "Morris" at B&H (minutes ago) and he says that he shows in their computer that the software was included, but that it isn't any longer. He put me on hold, and said he talked to his buyer and that even though it isn't included any longer, they will get it for me.

I got his name, because sounded bizarre to me. Morris said to make sure I call him back because he talked to the buyer.

I think I'll call EVS ;D

Hey Jan, check this: Profeel is advertising Magic Bullet for Editors. Last I checked, Profeel was *not* an authorized dealer.

Are they now authorized? Or are they "cheating"?

Jerry - I just got off the phone with B&H Photo too. After speaking with Mark he told me that the Magic Bullet software did not come in the box with the camera (at least not what they have in stock right now), but they would honor the panasonic deal and ship it for free with the pruchase. However you have to place your order over the phone.

Jan - How come EVS is not showing as an authorzied pana dealer? zip 91201.

Not sure how they are doing this as they are not an authorized dealer. Will investigate.

There is obvious confusion at B & H. This program is still on. They had a number of DVX100A in stock when I started the program and we have sent them software to cover those. The program is on until I call it off. My trial run was to the end of October, but I reserve the right to extend. I will forward your message to the sales guy that covers B & H and from there hopefully Morris will get the message right.

As I have not yet recieved my software, I decided to call B&H yesterday.
They have very good customer service, if my package is really on its way this time. :P
I love the camera and this forum! I trust B&H too... called back an hour later and ordered the Century Optics Ultra Fish Eye lens, and 1.6x tele-adapter.
My aresenal has improved so much since this camera purchase!!!

I think I'll be purchasing the camera from Willoughby's as i hear they're an authorized dealer, however I see nothing on their site about the magic bullet software, so who would I contact to see where I can get it from?

PS, We just received 25 new cameras with the Software in the box, and a sticker on the outside that says "Congratulations, you received Magic Bullet". All new orders will have the software inside. All July orders are getting the softare mailed this week. ;D

Willoughby's is authorized, but they charge a lot more for shipping than other authorized dealers do, which negates their price advantage. Ask Rush at EVS for a quote including shipping and DVXUser discount, and see how it compares to Willoughby's...

wow Jan.. doing the Magic bullet thing is gonna make your Authorized Dealers very happy.. I am sure its nice to be able offer something extra to buyers that are buying ligitimate cameras instead of saving a few hundred bucks and buying ones that came off the back of a truck.

I never really understood where these "unauthorized" cameras come from if they are made by Panasonic in the first place. I know better than to deal with the low ball places, I learned my lesson years ago. I ordered my DVX100a w/ Magic Bullet from ProMax on Monday, never had a problem with them since 1998 and they are "authorized" and have relatively reasonable prices on certain items.
