Panasonic's running a special right now, buy a DVX100A from an authorized dealer and they'll give you a free copy of "Magic Bullet For Editors", the $299 version.

It's on the Panasonic website for the DVX, doesn't say anything about "limited time offer" or whatever...

Hey Tyler, don't worry, nobody is getting that deal yet. I called the rep and he asked, "Did you get the marketing bulletin yet?" to which I replied "No" and he said,
"The software will start shipping with the DVX's in about a month, 2 weeks after you get the bulletin." I'm sure you'll get plenny of use out of your DVX during that month. ;D B&H doesn't have any info on their site about the software deal either.

Also, check on the site, it is for FCP, Vegas and premiere only right now. AVID coming out soon.

Well that makes me feel a little better. I plan on getting magic bullet, but for AE.

yeah.. if you bought it already your S.O.L. I expect the cut-off day probally will be the day the XL2 is announced lol.

Man what the hell. Great promo, wish they'd come up with a rebate on MB if you already have a DVX.

Any word on whether the Premiere Pro version works in AE? Same plugin architechture...

That's what kills me, I wish they made it a rebate program not a giveaway. That way I can distribute coupons after a certain date.

yeah.. somehow though I dont think that the free magic bullet will pull people away from the XL2 if they are in the Canon camp.. but I guess you never know. Depends what the street price of the XL2 is I guess.

Well I think it really sucks. One of the reasons I just bought my DVX100 was because I went to the Panasonic website and saw their offer of the Magic Bullet software. Because I didn't know for how long the offer would be going on for, I went ahead and bought my camera now (thanks, Rush!)

In my excitement to purchase my dream camera, I forgot to ask about the software until the end of the deal and it was then that Rush told me what was going on with Panasonic. I think that Panasonic needs to stand behind their own announcements on their website!!! If they are afraid of losing future customers over the XL2, they should think about the bad taste it leaves in a current customer's mouth. How can anyone expect brand loyalty when the company plays dirty tricks like this?

Is there someone I can talk to about this? Sheesh.

Anytime Lisa! I am working on something right now to try and get a few extra copies, but there is no guarantee yet... I will post a new thread if and when I can get them. I really wish they made a rebate program, doggone it...

Yeah, I bought my dvx just a month ago and saw what magic bullet can do, from some of the posts on this site, it would be sweet but in reality the dvx is a great deal on it's own with or with out, My cousin has one on order from rush right now but neither the magic bullet or xl2 would sway him from the quality for your buck that is the dvx

i talked to the guys at B&H and they say that they have a list of all the people who've recently bought DVXs, and that when they get in all the Magic Bullets they will ship them(shipping costs will apply of course)

They're talking about Magic Bullet For Editors, which is basically just the Magic Bullet Look Suites. It doesn't include the de-interlacing/frame-blending/de-artifacting part. It just includes the bleach-bypass look, the reversal-film look, all that kind of stuff.

Thanks Rush, you're the best! I also want to thank you again for all your help (and the "divine intervention") ;) for helping me get the camera that you had. I REALLY appreciate it!!! To anyone who is getting ready to buy their DVX100, Rush is definitely the guy! A great deal and so great to work with. Thanks again and please let me know if you get some from Panasonic.

I sent an email to Jan Crittenden, but haven't heard from her yet. I just think that Panasonic should stand behind what they post on their own website.

I agree about Panasonic, and I am trying to get invoices of camera purchases in July sent to Panasonic as proof that they were purchased after the advertised date on their website. But like I said there is still no gurarantee that this will happen.  Thank you very much for all your kind words.  It was a pleasure working with you!  ;D

Hi folks,

Sorry I have been late in comining on this, but DVExpo and personal stuff over the weekend kept me away. Anyhow if you bought your DVX in the month of July, your invoice must have the July date on it, you should go back to your Authorized dealer and ask them for a copy of the software. The software should arrive in our warehouse today. We will be shipping to dealers this week. Most of the DVX100As will have the product shipped inside the box, if it is shipped from our warehouse, but for those vendors that have some inventory, their customers may find that they get it shipped outside the box. All of this should be straightened out by the shipments in August, where every US camera in the supply chain will have the product tucked inside the box.

The whole purpose of this promotion is to help the US customer find a vendor that is an authorized reseller, and thus purchase a camera with a real US warranty. So if it doesn't come with Magic Bullet then the vendor is not authorized and the product that they have for sale is not a US product and thus no warranty from Panasonic.

The reason I chose the MB is because of the 50 film looks, like The Matrix, Amelie, 3 Kings, and others. This little piece of software is a plug in for the most popluar editing packages, FCP, Avid Express Pro, Adobe Premiere and Vegas.

Finally, it is primarily a tool for the customer to differentiate US market product from gray market, and have a nice little benefit in the long run. See www.redgiantsoftware.com and follow the links for the MB. Its a nice $299 value added to the DVX.
