Foward/Represent Music Video -Konshens (Jamaican Dancehall/Reggae artist)

used my Supertakumar 50mm for those nice flares on the roof

and rented a canon 24-70mm L f2.8

Yes i'm liking cinestyle. Looking forward to my Zacuto EVF thats on the way also :D

Thanks for the Look Speedjunkie :)

Excellent project, you really have a Nice eye for this art. I like the way the video started and you seen the artist working under the car, very creative. The second video had very nice visuals on the rooftop, the only thing is after about 2 minutes I would have liked to seen maybe some more scenes as the rooftop after about 2 minutes lost a little of my interest. Regardless though, nice project & excellent grading

9 out of 10 !!

thanks Vision. We had actually filmed another scene to intercut with the rooftop scene...but after cutting it together it just didnt feel right. It cheapened the video. I must admit the director had not planned this well at all and that scene was just sort of thrown together...and it showed. thanks for taking the time though. Really appreciate it.

Looks amazing. Well done sir. Great operating and energy. The stuff on top of the roof looks like a million bux. The stuff in the car yard looks like District 9 and the rooftop stuff looks like a high end JayZ music video.

What does you rig look like? What kind of shutter speeds were you shooting?

thanks Will. Means alot from you since I've admired your work from DVX days. This is the rig now minus my counter weight and an additional part on the handle which i've added to make it more sturdy. But this set up will change alot next week with the arrival of my EVF. I'll get rid of that frame that the 7 inch monitor is attached to then attach my EVF to the rods via a cinearm, and attach the 7 inch to the rods via another cinearm behind the camera (but all in line with my shoulder to have things balanced). It will be facing outward so the director can see. I'd rather not allow the director to hold the 7 inch for safety reasons, because if there is alot of movement the hdmi cable can break. the added wieght at the back really makes me be able to operate this like a normal camera and handheld is really good. I can move the camera alot without rolling shutter.

my Shutter speed was always very high...i cant remember what exactly it was though, but I unfortunately use shutter to expose because i dont have my ND set. . I refuse to use my Fader ND though because I think it makes the images unacceptably soft. The ND set i want are the tiffen IR water whites and they are kinda costly...but i'll get them soon. I would have shot the garage scene with a high shutter non the less because it was a "hype" song. I'll post a pic of the new setup when the evf comes.

+10

Using High shutter speeds especially for Music Videos gives them a fantastic look. I as well do not use Faders and this is My trick. It truly makes the images look beautiful, I love filming with high shutter speeds.

That's pretty money Jambredz. That rig is way legit.

I wanna get a hold of those nds too, but they're not cheap at all.

Does that evf have a loop through hdmi?

yup it does :) along with a TON of other features... mainly zebras and peaking and is firmware upgradeable so its future proof. Really like that.
