C300: Four Wireless Mics into C300 Mark II?

So, four channels available for recording. You have two XLR channels, and then you have the 1/8" input, which is stereo, left and right. Is there a way to have one of the wireless going to the left and a second one going to the right? Maybe a splitter would do the trick?

Something like this: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1237751-REG/hosa_technology_hmx_003y_1_8_stereo_mini_to.html

Would that work?

Hi Eric, this is super cool!
A question though, can you record both XLR and the 1/8 Jack at the same time? Is this a setting on the camera and does it come up as multiple tracks?

The camera is always recording 4 channels of audio. If you just have XLR's plugged in, they are Channel 1 and 2, and then the on-board scratch mic goes to channels 3/4. When you plug something into the mini-jack, that then goes to 3/4.

The only place to see all 4 channels' levels is the rear daylight screen above the CFast Slots.

Also Eric, wouldn't you want female XLRs on that cable, not male?

Hmm.. Perhaps I have confused things here. Is this the same for the C100? It's just that on the handle where the audio controls are you have to select either int/ext, so I'd you choose both ext, you can't use the camera mic.

C100 and C300 Mark I are two channels only. C300 Mark II is four channels.

^^I don't know anything about the C300 and I don't use anything but a stereo mic in the 3.5mm jack. Reading the manual, I see that the scratch mic is overiden by either the handle or the 3.5mm jack. The 3.5mm jack is overiden by the handle. At the handle are two chan. of audio selectable as built-in stereo unit or external XLR mics. Without the handle, two chan. of audio are available when using the 3.5mm jack. So, no, I personally don't see where the C100 can handle anymore than two chan. of audio at any given time.

When the MA-400 Microphone Adapter was announced I thought it might expand the audio capabilities and allow x4 XLRs, but on closer inspection it appears to be exactly like the audio functions on the monitor assembly, but without the monitor. :-P

Internally yes. On the RAW output there's only two channels, and they are 16bit instead of 24bit like internal.
Having all 4 audio channels in all places seems to be an obvious thing for the Canon wish list. Not sure if it's possible to fit that onto Canon's flavor of RAW over SDI?
Or any of the other places where they go down to 2 channels (can't remember exactly where at the moment, proxies?, HDMI?)

You still get the 4 Channels in Proxy. But HDMI is down to two channels just like RAW (Granted you can choose which channels you send, CH1/CH2 or CH3/CH4). This doesn't seem to be a SMTPE restriction, HDMI 1.3 can support up to 8 channels, so assume it's some technical limitation elsewhere.
