Not sure if this kind of thing is allowed here, I don't work for this company either. Admins can delete it if it isn't allowed.

Anyways, doing my regular gear searches, I stumbled upon a company called Vistek.ca (here in Canada) has a $1000 off for the C100, going for $5669CAD, or $6499CAD for the body + the Ninja2. B&H sells the body only for $6499USD. There is also free shipping if you live in Canada, at least for my postal code here in the GTA.

I just checked the site and you are absolutely correct. This possibly means a USA rebate is just around the corner (probably will be announced during NAB)! Good news, I'll be purchasing my C100 next week!

Just found this press release from Canon stating a new kit combo with the C100.

"The Company has also announced and will showcase the new Cinema EOS C100 EF 24-105 Lens Kit, a cost-effective solution to assist cinematographers, including single-person and small cinematography crews, with the ability to purchase and produce high-quality pieces at an affordable price-point."

I wonder if the new kit will be $6,500 and the $1,000 instant rebate we're seeing outside the US is a way to reduce the price of the body only. hmmmm.....

I just want 60P. (sigh)

Jerome thanks for the link. Looks like the rebate is a 1 month rebate. Valid till April 30 on the lozeay site. Does Canon know something about the competitors we don't? They're trying to move more units obviously.

Based on what we're seeing in the international market, look for C100 body at $5500 and C100 Kit Lens Special at $6500. Special USA Promo pricing should reach the states in a few days (maybe Monday at NAB)!!!!

It's my understanding Lozeau always has "valid until" notices whenever there's a price reduction. After the stated date, the price, to my knowledge, just sticks to the reduced level. I could be wrong, but the little voice under my pillow tells me otherwise.

Off topic, they're also selling the F3 used with a Shape rig & two Anton/Bauer batteries for $8,000 and a 3 month warranty. New, that set up was close to $28,000.

The speed at which things lose their perceived value gives me pause. If the C100 follows the XF300, it'll probably be $4,500 by this time next year. Used, it'll be even less.

Oh well, I'll just "stay informed" while I continue with my trusty 20D for motion graphic work.

Peace, prosperity and success to everyone.

PS
I don't work for Lozeau, they're just down the street from where I live, so...
