Found a bunch of old lenses....

I was cleaning out my parent's garage and found a bunch of old lenses that my uncle had for his camera:

Quantary 28mm F 2.8
Chinon 55mm F 1.8
Cannon FD 50mm F 1.8
Minolta 50mm F 1.7
Vivitar 70-200 mm F 3.5

I'm familiar with the FD series and Vivitar but I have never heard of Quantary or Chinon. Basically, before I go purchasing adapters, does anyone have any experience with these lenses and are they worthwhile? I already own the Cannon FD 50mm 1.4, so I"m not too concerned with the 1.8.

Thanks!

The vivitar 70-200 is a sweet lens. I have one thats ultra sharp. but it's heavy and long. I still love it though.

Forget about the Chinon and Quantaray unless it's the same mount as either the Canon or Minolta. Both are probably just rebadges of other peoples stuff - Chinon was an OEM at one point, and it's hard to screw up a 55/1.8 but on a 30 year old lens, anything is possible.

I have 3 Chinon lenses and I'm very happy with them. They feel solid, the image looks nice I use them quite a bit.

Chinon 50mm 1.9
Chinon 28mm 2.8
Chinon 135mm 2.8
All Pentax K Mount

The Quantaray lenses are ok, I have a 28mm. I usually only see them around in either a zoom, a 28mm or 135mm. They can be had for pretty cheap.

Minolta is definitely a nice lens. That 50mm is nice, they also have a 50mm 1.4 and a 1.2.

The Canon is nice too, I have a FD 50mm 1.8 that does well, but since I have a Minolta 50mm 1.4, that's what usually gets used.

I like inexpensive lenses, some are really nice, some aren't, but they're fun to use.
