Forget the Sagway - Hondas new Lazy-Stool

Maybe I could rig my Steadycam to it.

I love the line at the end of the video..
"personal mobility in harmony with humanity"

?!?!?!?

I want one though!

After seeing it in action at Cinegear, the Segway is really well suited for use with a Steadicam.

Easily one of the wildest Steadicam shots ever.

Full speed "step-off" (jump!) from the Handfree (modified Segway for Steadicam use - you steer with your legs) into a full speed sprint , right into a roundy-round arc, running, backwards (!!), with a dutch lock, and then one more push past into a dutch reversal with a switch and pull back.

On live TV.

At ESC.

As the video says, ridiculous.

I've seen that steadicam shot about 100 times since it was up in youtube, I can't stop thinking the balance and master control that he has to have to ride and control the steadicam. And to keep the image steady with all those zooms. for the master.

Once again Honda astounds with a brilliant engineering solution to a question that nobody asked.

They'll have to beef up the production version considerably. Skinny video models don't stay skinny by letting a machine haul their asses around, instead of walking. The core market for this gizmo already outmasses it suspension capacity - because they don't like to walk around.

Ugh. Can't wait to see the fat-acceptance crowd jump on this one.

Steadicam on a Handsfree is deceptively easy (as long as you are proficient with Steadicam). However that video is taking it to a whole 'nother level.

This would be great for parties and a lot of fun to ride after a few drinks. Walking does look faster tho. I have used my Segway on several occasions as a beer delivery device.

I've only used a Segway once and it was REAL fun hahaha the first time you start it is really akward hahaha the first time I tried running it I nearly hit a wall hahaha, then it was really smooth and easy to control.

Now is time to get started on steadicam control....

Screw lazy stool.

I want HOVER SHOES!

Seriously, this guy did not actually solder wires directly to the battery, did he?
