Forget about fllm & broadcast for a moment...

No, I haven't lost anything. And it forces you to develop good habits.

We shot with a RED camera and one CF card was bad which due to human error they didn't realize during the shoot. When I began edit and didn't find all clips I knew something was wrong!

We had to do a whole new day of shooting but on the up-side we got some unique extra material. So even with something like a RED you f-up.

When you stop recording with the GH1, it still continues writing to the SD card for few seconds, if you switch off the GH1 during that, there's a big chance you'll get errors as well.

OP Im hearing you on some points. Nice DOF control gives you plenty of options when choosing your shots. The last live event I directed was 2 HPX500's and a HVX on steadicam. Wouldnt even bother trying to do it with 3 7d's.

An HVX in a controlled studio situation with a DOF adapter? It looks like this...

Thanks for posting this Barry. After reading this topic I was considering getting the HPX170 for a day or 2 so this movie was important for me. Fantastic production but the image is just a bit too "videoish" for me (especially at 01:50 with the light shining through the window) and I am happy again that I "invested" in DSLR video. Of course this is a matter of personal taste, I can image that others may prefer the HVX/HPX look. I cannot appreciate the Sony EX cam look either by the way. So I better save my euros for when the Scarlet becomes available.

My 7D arrived this morning, after I finished today's editing I'm gonna unpack it, grab a beer and play with it.
