Check out Mark De Blok'c ads in the marketplace, he has the CN-E 15.5-47 T2.8 and the CN-E 30-105 T2.8, both look really clean for U.S. $12,000.00 each, half price off of new. If I owned a PL mount camera, these would be a very nice package.

I got both of my CN-E 15.5-47 T2.8 and the CN-E 30-105 T2.8 for about $10k each, EF mount. One I got used from Adorama. Both purchased on Ebay and both in really good condition. Keep an eye out and you'll find good deals. Way too big of a savings to buy at the new price, and the nice thing is, you can still rent them out at a rate as if you'd paid the full new price. I put mine down as a $400 line item each ($800 together) when a client hires me with them.

I want to get the 17-120, but the savings for that one with buying used is not nearly as good.

Good to know Eric. It's strange, when I used to own high-end glass like Zeiss primes for my Arri SR2, glass held it's value for decades. Now, even nice lenses like these Canons are worth less than 50% of new when used. Wonder what changed?

I think Abel Cine and Duclos both have swappable mount systems for both of those lenses, that once fitted allows the user to quickly swap between PL and EF with no effect on the back focus(no shimming).

Unless the lens has ARRI, Optimo, or Cooke printed on it, it won't hold its value as well these days haha

The 35mm Zeiss Super Speeds and Bausch and Lomb Super Baltars are having something of a renaissance but that may change as we go to these full frame cameras.

Sorry, I know it's all slightly off topic but had to chime in :2vrolijk_08:

With every top end camera moving on to full frame sensors, the top end S-35 lenses will not retain their value for long. So buying second hand and earning back the investment soon will help. There are many new lens companies as well who are ready to use the latest technology to design lenses. This area is seeing more action these days. In next NAB you will see how many new full frame lenses are being launched.
