For Barry Green - Battery Powered FW Drive

Why can't we get organized here and roll our own? Basically, we could sell them just like the DVX batteries. With all the oem parts and suppliers out there, it should be doable.

(1) Aluminum 2.5 Chassis with Firewire (and USB if possible) with chipset mount
(2) Firewire (and USB if possible) chipset with power/battery support.
(3) IDE and or SATA connector to chipset
(4) Battery and power interface - I'm thinking a flat novel-kind of brick that could be mounted sandwich style with the drive in a second aluminum enclose i.e removable & pushing 4-5000 mAh.

My guess is this would be $75 - $150 in parts. Buyers add their own drives (and extra batteries).

Have you tried this one, Barry?

It's the enclosure at the bottom of the page.

Barry, I tried for a better battery as the one you've posted a few messages above.
Sorry, no chance.

HOWEVER: The Cutie drives, as David suggested, see above link, offer very good
quality. I do have one since appr. one year now and it goes all around the world
with me. No problems so far. Very sturdy, very reliable.Cutie will exhibit at Cebit,
Hanover/Germany in March this year. While attending the exhibition, I'll visit
their stand and ask specifically for a battery powered version of their enclosure.

Best Pe.

I'd like one I could snap an Anton Bauer Trimpak on (since I have them), just as I do my monitor. How hard could that be?
