Food Series - Simply Light

[Bea Schreiber]

I shot a new web series on my Canon 7D yesterday called Simply Light with Bea Schreiber. It was just me with the camera which took lots of set up time and test shots to do with no crew, but it looks beautiful! Going without a crew means spending lots of time framing with a piece of gear used as a stand in. Then testing the framing by doing a test shot and checking it. Sometimes you end up doing ten test shots before you can get started because the framing is just off a hair. It’s not easy, but the the end result is worth it…A show that cost nothing to make but time and energy.

These are a few stills from the shoot…

And here is the final result...

I used a GoPro for the 2nd cam and shot this with no crew whatsoever. I hosted, edited, color corrected, and created the graphics using Motion templates. The music was from a free use online library, so it made it easy to score. It was fun, but I like shooting films better. I might do more of these though. What do you think?
