follow focus

I have cinevate rails and a follow focus that I used for my EX1/letus combo. Now I mainly use my gh2. Can I adapt a follow focus and rails system for the gh2? My quick answer would be yes, but some of the gh2 lens are short and close to the camera boday. I am not 100 percent sure how to get a follow focus ring around my pancake lens for example. Ideas?

It is possible to rig the pancake for a follow focus it you can reverse the FF´s gear to the back. I don´t know if that´s possbile with yours.

But it is a pain to FF the 20mm, I stopped trying. Due to the motorized focus wheel you never really know what you´re doing.

Hey

We've rigged up our GH1 with a follow focus with success in the past. You'd likely have to switch the gearbox orientation for the follow focus or even mount it on the other side, depending on what'd you prefer (switching the gear box reverses the direction of the focus pull to go from near-to-far and vice versa). We also have a larger lens gear for larger lenses (not sure the physical dimensions of your pancake). Or, you might just need the larger drive gear we offer, known as the 'RED' gear around the office because RED users would often need it (as in your concern, the Durus gear box interfering with the camera body).

Hopefully that helps, if not I'll be browsing the forums more frequently (my apologies for the delayed reply) or feel free to send me an email - luke@cinevate.com and we'll get you sorted out!
