On the A1, what is the best method to shift focus? Do you simply turn the focus ring until the focus sharpens on the subject...or so you watch the focus numbers? My method has been to shift focus 10 times in a row watching the subject, and maybe 1 of the 10 shifts turns out good. I know there's a better method.

You can turn on Peaking which will show you what is in focus and help you know when to stop. You can also set a focus point, rack away from it, and then have the camera automatically rack back to the focus point you set before. It's right on the barrel as Position Preset (Focus).
