Hi,
i was wondering if the focus rig rotation is a big deal.

The canon 17-55 we have a focus rig that can rotate 90 degrees, and the sigma 17-50 rotate 40 degrees.

Does it make a difference in practice when i shoot video ?

Thanks in advance,
Have a good day

I don't even think the canon 17-55 has enough focus throw. Plus, the feel isn't very good. It is considered to be the best of the APS-C standard zooms, though.

I'm better with the focus throw on samyang 35mm and forget about zoom lenses. Do you have any zoom lenses to suggest that has a good focus throw for manual focus?

The Nikon 17-55 2.8 is a nicer, better built zoom with slightly smoother focus throw but is still nothing like a fully manual prime for focussing. I actually prefer the shorter throw when run n gunning - longer throw when you can set focus marks
