Hey guys so I'm really ashame to be asking this cuz its so amateur but how do you do that shot where theres two objects in a picture. One in focus, the other is out. Then you bring the one out of focus in and the other out? Sorry if this sounds confusing or if its posted somewhere. Thanks!!

It's called a rack focus. It requires a shallow depth of field that the DVX cannot normally get.

First, if you can, make sure there's enough light so that you can have the iris open all the way (in bright light, like direct sun or professional lighting, this may require use of the in-camera ND filters).

Second, move the camera back and then zoom in a bit to frame both foreground and background objects. Use the manual focus ring to rack focus from foreground to background, or vice versa. The zoom number guide can help you mark your start and end points, though it's not exact. Takes a little practice, but it can be done.
