ikr...it's incredibly annoying...
Any way, good choice with the mark3. I had it for a while and you won't regret it :)

Prolost flat works well if just need a little better DR. http://prolost.com/flat
Cinestyle works great if you intend to do heavy grading https://www.technicolorcinestyle.com/download/
Similaar flaat also works...it gives you same similar DR to cinestyle (in fact a little more with flaat11) but isn't exactly flat. It's rather a bit more vivid than neutral. http://www.similaar.com/foto/flaat-picture-styles/index.html
If you want to know more about flaat, Samuel's your man.

Personally, I've used all three and there are times to switch between them. I keep all 3 in my mark3

Whatever you do, don't use faithful or any default profile.

Faithful is not so good in my opinion. From the stock picture styles Neutral is the best (I use it with contrast -4, saturation -2).
However there are many other picture styles out there and the one I use more with my 60D is Flaat_10 http://www.similaar.com/foto/flaat-picture-styles/index.html created by a fellow DVXuser...
Take a look at that thread: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?278481-Flaat-picture-styles-for-the-5D3

I use the z-finder pro for focus assist. Works very well, but i agree that i will use ML when it is available for peaking. Might also try my small Marshall soon for peaking, but defeats portability.

Actually the best tool I have found is the Zacuto EVF. Their focus peaking in red is terrific. It kind of twinkles wherever the focus is placed as opposed to a standard red line peaking on a Marshall for instance. I always know where my focus is at. I use it with an Edelkrone monitor arm.

LOL, this statement is too true. GH and BMC fanboys are the worst and the BMC isn't really even out yet. They're both good cameras, but yeah, sometimes on very rare occasions there are those of us who want to shoot with something different.

As for peaking, not even sure how a modern camera can function without it. For fast event style shooting, peaking is an absolute must. I can't believe Canon does not include it. Thank God for people like Alex.
