C300: Focus Issues with CN-E 70-200

Hi, I recently purchased the CN-E 70-200 at CVP for a great price for my C300 MK2 and i must say that the Autofocus is really bad. It probably has the worst Autofocus behaviour of all my EF lenses.
I was shooting on a race Track yesterday and i had to borrow the regular 70-200 2.8 EF lens from a Photographer because the CN-E lens could not hold Focus on the Race Cars.
The EF lens was great on the other hand.
I will send it back for Canon to check but wanted to ask you guys, what your experience is with the lens? Just to make sure. Thank you very much for your Input.

I have only shot with a prototype of this lens when it was just coming out but the prototype worked fine. We were shooting the CN E 18-80 alongside it as well and we noticed no difference in the focusing behavior between the two.
Sounds like your lens may have issues? Has it ever been dropped or subject to high shock when it was in the case? I'd bring it to Canon.

thank you puredrifting for the info.. i already own the 18-80 for 2 years now and the autofocus is great.. i never dropped the 70-200 but something does not seem right here.. i will definitely send it in

Let us know what you and Canon find out on it. I don't think Canon has sold nearly as many of the 70-200s, you don't hear about them much. I'm glad they sell it, but for me, I already own the EF 70-200 f/2.9 IS II so I would be hard pressed
to buy the CN E model as I use a long lens like that usually on a tripod or for interviews where a servo control wouldn't be as important as the f/2.8 ability. OTOH, the 18-80, I'd really like to have it, I keep an eye out for a good clean used one.
