Focus and zoom problem

Hi guys!

Had the camera for a while, however this is the first time I've noticed the following problem:

I zoom in, focus, then when I zoom out, image goes slightly out of focus, I go back in again, focus and the same thing all over again. Sometimes I'm lucky and focus will remain the same. Has anyone else experienced this?

Interesting.. sounds like a backfocus problem. Is this possible with a fixed lens?

I thought it might be a backfocus problem, but since its a fixed lens and it occurs ocassionally, ruled it out...but still it could be I guess...

A back focus problem certainly is not uncommon. It can be hardware related ( did your camera take a recent hit or bump)? Or software related. I was amazed at how many functions are controlled by software. Sometimes, a "software alignment" at an authorized service center can fix the problem.
