Floating Girl under fire

This is for a short I'm working on. I'm into sci fi. I used lens flares to create the lights and cut a piece of the ground out using rotoscope and scatter to make it look like the lens flares are hitting. When they got close I used glow effect and light rays to enhance. The sounds are from soundbooth.

I used nighttime preset in magic bullet, then I added the lens flares, and light rays and then I added the preset crime scene alternate as a final pass.
 
If you have the time, you might want to cut out the girl on the medium with a mask, and add a bit of light wrap or edge glow, to make it look like a light is really in front of her and to seperate her from the dark ground.

That sounds like a line from a book. Its a general guide - theres no hard rules. In fact I like the wide showing the pathway the person had walked and then cut to tight. The whole whooshing and the lights hitting the ground, Im not so sure of. This seems like a more gentle moment. And I agree with Kevin above.
 
Thanks for the advice on the wrap and glow kevin. I think that will work better as the light gets closer if I progressively increase.

Noel, yeah the sounds need some work as do the red orbs. It's a ying and yang moment. They're part of alien race that uses inner light to fuel their powers. The red lights are evil. So once the snow thaws and the hills back to dirt and barren trees I'm going to reshoot with the horizon. There's going to be 4-5 men/women floating surrounded by red lights, trying to attack this one lone girl who is encased in the white lights. She ends up being the chosen one. What's so important about the lights is when they are absorbed they conatin all the memories and secrets that the light has endured through multiple lifetimes. And now this little girl possesses the most important light there is.

So eventhough she's under attack, I want her to be at peace and calm as all this chaos is going on around her.
