flip LCD with magnet on DVX100B - don't work!

I have tested an italian 35mm adapter (look this site www.wdr35.com), but if I use a magnet to flip image on my PANA-DVX100B, it doesn't work!!!
WHY???
The DVX100B have another system to flip monitor?

k, ill withold from ranting cause im tired of answering this question as its been answered a half dozen times.

but first off

Welcome to the boards! lol

There is a quick and easy solution for flipping the image on the dvx100b and it requires removing the cover cap from the bridge piece connecting the lcd screen to the camera. Inside there isa little white switch that is activated when the lcd screen is flipped over for self shoot mode. So your basically pressing this switch and making the camera think its shooting in self shoot mode when its not.

there are pictures around the forum somewhere. Just do a search in the DIY section and this section. Your bound to find it. It works wonders for me.

I even devised a way to just sand away a little bit of the cap so i can easily slide a thin wire in but having the cap still on to protect the hardware and wiring.

The 100B uses a different LCD panel than the 100/100A did. The 100B's LCD doesn't have a magnetic-capable switch in it. Follow PaPa's instructions for flipping the 100B (or HVX) LCD.

ive looked all over the forums but i cant find the picture showing the little white switch. ill try to take a picture of it toda yand show it to ya.

voila!

Sorry to be slightly off topic, but rubber bands! that's too simple. I can't beleive I didn't think of that before.

no, nothing broke on it. There are two little things that snap the piece on, which are on the lcd screen side. It comes off with a slight bit of pressure.

Like i said, my little connector snapped, small piece of plastic, so i glued my cover back on with a little hole sanded away to place the wire inside for the flip effect.

Yes,Just find it PaPa.But i'm afraid to do this so soon.I just got my DVX100B today!
If i had my old dvx100 it'll be no problem and woulb be more easy with the magnet trick.

Nice tip, but, that switch it works too to flip the video output for another monitor? (I mean the Director), or is necessary an 'flipper' monitor?.

It just flips the camera's LCD... keep in mind that the image will be flipped but the display text won't. You will need a field monitor that can flip the image or that can be turned upside down. I just mount my 7" Marshall upsidedown (it is set up to do it). I also have an 8" CRT monitor that I just turn upside down in the field.
