OTHER: flight school demo

Alright this definitely isn't high art but I'll post it for comment and criticism. A local flight school needed a demo to loop at their booth at a trade show. And they needed it in 24 hours. So yesterday I grabbed my shoulder rig, and this morning sent back this.

It is what it is, given the 24 hour limitation. One thing though - how big is the screen going to be where they'll loop this at the booth? The bigger the screen, the worse the 'shaky cam' effect will be. I think this can take a 30" screen at most - anything bigger and you'll get nausea watching the cam shake. I realize that you probably couldn't do anything about it, but that is a seriously distracting thing, especially on larger screens. I'd have done everything I could to stabilize the cam, maybe used something different than a shoulder rig - but if that's all you had, well, that's all you can do.

Of course I agree. I think the shoulder rig is a decent setup for the situation, but it doesn't overcome the bumps on a hot day over the desert. In the smoother moments I think the footage is reasonably peaceful and satisfying. I also chose a 28-75 over the 11-16, which might have been a mistake in that regard.

FWIW, setup was: Tamron 28-75 2.8 on a Sony Nex5t, ND filter, spider-type rig.
