7D Flash with 7D

Can I randomly fire the built-in flash on a 7D during an exposure?For instance, I want to fire a flash or two during a 30 second exposure. Can this be done or do I need an external flash.Thnx

Yes external flash needed. But since timing might not matter so much you can pretty well use any old flash that has a manual trigger option. Otherwise the 430EX, 580EX's are pretty good (but again they don't have to be Canon flashes because you will trigger it manually)
