Fixing A Bricked GH1

I hacked my GH1 over a year ago. I filmed some leaves blowing in the wind and the camera bricked. It won't turn on properly now and when it does, I try to film but it'll shut off after a couple of seconds.

My question to you guys is this:

How do I un*uck my camera? Is there an escape rope I can use here?

I can't even remember what version increment I used on it... Sad I know.

I can't imagine filming some blowing leaves would brick the camera. I have a feeling the camera did stop and froze, but usually all it takes is to remove the battery and re-insert it to getting to work again.

Here are some suggestions if removing the battery and re-inserting a fully charged battery does not get you going: 1) Use the latest Ptool and only click the version increment and use some larger numbers to see if the camera installs the firmware to get it back to some normal firmware. Recall that in order to install firmware use Panasonic legit battery fully charged. 2) Try to Reset the camera from the Settings Menu... Al

So, you're saying you used your hacked camera successfully for one year, and then suddenly one day it froze and won't start again? That sounds like it has nothing to do with the hack, but something else has gone wrong in the camera. Of course, try the things people are suggesting, but if nothing works, you may have to hit the repair shop.

I had a wide angle lens on and it was in the woods amongst giant trees and the leaves were blowing in the wind. There was a lot of action going on and it may have overloaded the camera.

I will try your suggestions, thanks for the help man.

Update

Just tried to turn the camera on and it's nothing but a black screen. I take the lens off, change shooting modes, go into preview and it still stays black. When I turn the camera off, the green light stays on, signaling that there's still power. I had to take the battery out to shut it off.

I'll try again in a bit and see if I can get any kind of screens to load up on the interface, maybe I can get lucky and get it working long enough to reset it to factory settings.

I had a bricked gh2 repaired by Panasonic ,they will change the board and will cost one half of the cost of the camera. So I suggest buy a new or used gh1 . Too expensive to repair
