Hey everyone,

Here is a 5 minute film, titled "Five Minutes" that my crew and I created for the Campus Movie Fest (CMF) at University of South Florida. For those who've never heard of CMF, basically they challenge students across the country to make a movie (can be no longer than five minutes) in one week's time.

Originally we were not going to be participating in the CMF this year, but we made a last second decision to do so and conceived the script/organized the film in 3 days and shot/edited it in 2 days.

Shot with the Canon Rebel T2i, a Panasonic HD camera, and the GoPro.

Comments and critique are welcome.

Thanks for watching!

The concept is ok, but aside from the very last shots it just looks like shaky video stuff which im guessing you did intentionally to give it that Blair Witch, Paranormal Activity "realism" but im not a huge fan.

I think you should edit a good 90 seconds - 2 minutes off of this. Your main guy is nearly in the same 2 cuts for all but maybe 30 seconds if that here. Trim out some of the talking, cut it to about 2-3 minutes and you may have somehting. I started to get a little bored after 90 seconds in when you never really changed the angles much, and just kept skipping and skipping and the picture never seemed to change till i got till the end.

I do like how you switch perspectives at the end, and the ending itself was nice, as was your last few shots.

**SPOILERS**

I don't fully understand, but I'm a pretty simple person. The first section of the video it seems like he killed her and it was flashing to that. I mean, his hands are bloody and he wipes the steam off a mirror, right?
So ... if he WASN'T hit by the car, he would have killed her?! But since he was hit, she lived and he died?

Contrary to jone5, I liked the style of the shoot. But I'm a fan of the Cloverfield "quick & dirty" look. There was a lot of pixelation in it, though, whenever she zoomed in. It was a bit distracting.

Overall, I liked it, but I agree it went on a little long. Though I understand the 5:00 time constraint, but do you HAVE to use all 5 minutes?

Thank you both for watching and for the critiques.

Yeah, that has been really bothering me too. The actual recorded footage isn't like that. Unfortunately, I was forced to run the rendered file through Campus Movie Fest's compressor and I believe that caused a significant hit in quality. I would have re-rendered the file at a higher bit rate to compensate for this, but I didn't have enough time to in order to meet the deadline.

No, we didn't. However, I was concerned if we jumped to the end too soon without enough buildup it would just seem too sudden and forced.

Thanks again for watching!
