Fishing reel for hauling a slider

Ive got this plan to use a fishing reel to haul my igus slider along the track. I am not sure which kind to get:

either a basic reel or a more sexy casting spool type.

so I am kind of fishing for opinions :)

Will it work upside-down? (I've been mounting my Igus bar to ceilings and walls, the thing's like a super-powered high-hat tripod).

And (been asked this yet??) You thinking of building these for $$? Seriously, let me know what kind of retail this would be - you could certainly sell quite a few. I want one!
 
Thanks, but I don't want to hijack this thread. I was simply providing an alternative to the fishing line idea. As for selling these, I prefer to keep this as a DIY build - I have a detailed parts list on the site linked from the other thread.
