So Ive done some videos in the past and have my first wedding in DEC. I'm doing a few for free to get a few under my belt before charging a few bucks.

I'm meeting with the client next week and wondering what questions I should ask? I have a few in mind and wanted to see if im on the right track

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

My gear-:2thumbs:

Indoor or outdoor ceremony? What kind of sound, size of wedding? Will there be a mic'd groom? pastor? Are you meeting with the wedding coordinator? She would know better as far as the flow of the wedding and where you can set up without being too distracting. Sometimes they have like pillars set up with some greenery on them. Might be a place for a camera behind them?
As far as the flow, when are pictures? Is it ok to have video cam rolling there too? I would go to the rehearsal dinner to prepare. Find out where the wedding party will line up. You don't want to have to move your camera's in the middle of the ceremony. Also where is reception? will you have time to get over there and prepare for bride and groom's grand entrance. See if there is an MC, and or DJ? Bring an on camera light for the reception, sometimes for dancing they'll lower lights.

Awesome reply! Just what I was looking for. You gave me some great tips. Id say half your questions where some of my own. What connecters would you recommend me buying in order to tap in to the MC or DJ booth for sound if possible?

Thank you!

thats a good question for anyone. not just wedding shooters!

i keep a bag full of adapters of just about any standard board I/O:
1/4", XLR, RCA, 1/8"mini. all in male, female, unisex, transgender, stereo to dual, etc... a trip to your local guitar center and + or - $200 should gear you up for about anything.

Thanks for the input. I wonder if they make a "universal kit"
