I haven't been doing video for all that long, and i am definitely not up to the level of most of you but i thought you guys could check out my newest video. I have been shooting action sports stuff for a while and have compiled a lot of footage so i decided to make a short video, with a message. Let me know what you think.

nice, i thought that looked great. i have a hard time beliveing that was shot on a dvx, looks way better then anything i got so far, is it stock, and the stuff at the dirt track was that all a one cam shoot alot of very cool angels. very cool stuff

Thank you for the positive feedback. Everything was actually shot on a dvx and yes everything i have shot is a one camera shoot other than a couple of interviews i have done.

that was reall well shot and i love the editing. the effects you used were awesome. how did you do them?

If you're new to this, you have a real talent. Same thing applies if you aren't new to it as well.

Ok, talk to us about color saturation.
Did you crank the saturation in post, or did you crank up the chroma levels in cam? or both?
I noticed your reds looked saturated but not bleeding all over the place. Any special ways for dealing with reds?

Amazing Stuff! The colors were great.

Did you jump out of a plane with your DVX to get that shot of the skydiving?

Most of my saturation does come from post. Honestly i didnt do anything special to try and deal with the reds. One thing i forgot to do was to apply the "Color smoothing 4:1:1" in FCP to help smooth the pixelated reds. As far as sky diving with the dvx, i wish, but no that footage was actually from one of the sky diving guys.

haha the some static footage at the beginning is off of one of his dvds but thats it... I didn't think that was considered an effect but maybe i am wrong..

I do a lot of effects work, so it becomes really easy to spot these things, A lot of people use the stock effects and layers from Andrew's site. It's not a crime, in fact a lot of people are interested in these things :) There was a guy on the HVX boards that used the entire stock versions of The Evolution series. They look cool and make a good piece of video look better :)

haha yea i hear ya.. I've seen a lot of guys that pretty much use all of his tutorials as there visual fx reels.. i have watched a lot of his tutorials but i never really get deep into them.

loved it.

loved it.

Technically there were a few things off.

HOWEVER, this video is inspiring. I related to it. I got the chills. Thank you for making this! This has made my day.

Inspirational video

I just joined this site and I think I've watched your video half a dozen times or so. If you're still an amateur, I'm looking forward to seeing what you pump out when you're a pro. Very inspirational.

P.S. I'm assuming that the young man who couldn't walk was the promising dirt bike rider after an accident.
