First Video, First time Editing

Here is our new music video. Shot by us, I directed, edited. We used 2 7ds, steadycam, dolly, jib, remote head...yadayada. I edited in Adobe Premiere CS5 and did the graphics in AE CS5, using the fabulous "Evolution" Plugins by Video Copilot. I produced and recorded the track as well. It was fun, and we all enjoyed it, even if the video suxs!lol! Thanks for watching.

I thought it flowed fine and the editing kept up. I wasn't a huge fan of the random text flying in, but I suppose its because its not something I see alot in this genre of music.

tight edits, good lighting, I bet they are very pleased with it!

You certainly made good use of "Evolution" elements.

Not my style of music but it was well done. Nice women and cars, its hard to screw that up!

The only thing that bothered me was I thought you had way too many dissolves. I know music videos don't conform well to traditional ideas of editing but dissolves are supposed to denote a passage of time or location. So I think the dissolves made the video feel longer than it is.

I thought you did a good job on the quick cuts and most of the supers.

What really sucks about your video is that I'm going to hear that song in my head for the rest of the day...

12 seconds in on the car wheel.

Oh, that...that was not an "invert" effect directly, I was messing with the curves trying to make the clip "darker", and the client saw some of the weird contrasts and requested that look. Give the rest of the video a chance please!! lol!!

Thanks everyone for looking and for all of your advise and comments. I did feel like I was doing lots of dissolves, so you are on point about that. I had another guy helping direct, and the shots did quite come out how I would have preferred. I have another shoot on the 26th, and another on the 10th, and I plan on doing more tripod and dolly work. I also get to do a video on a boat coming up next month...Im sure that will be hard(boats and hoes)!!! The other guy wanted to use the remote control head to follow the actor around the set with it...no good. He kept losing the framing and ruined some cool looking scenes, so he got let go. The next one will be even better. Keep the comments comming, And I will return the favor.
