First Time w/ HVX!

I am excited. I only had it for the weekend, which was nearly enough time to even begin to get used to it, but I had fun. It is much crisper than the DVX, and I think the color are more vibrant as well.

I am using it again for a short horror video I need to make as an assignment. By then I should hopefully have enough money to buy Premiere CS4 (if it is out) and edit the MXF files for real.

I did this in Vegas with a Raylight Demo. I didn't care about the watermarks, I just wanted to see how HD was on my computer, and it works nicely.

No Music, Just random footage of meaningless things

Yeah its cool. The adapter is mine but they have a dozen HVXs and a few HPX500s. Most of which are broken someway since people don't know how to use them.

That's a shame they break them. We had an HVX at college and I fell in love with it. I just purchased my own 2 weeks ago and can't believe the quality it shoots! Great work and looking forward to seeing more.

Yeah, there are a lot of morons at my school. You are forced to take a short class on how to use the HVX and the HPX500 before you are allowed to check them out. You wouldn't believe how many people I have seen saying "OH cool manual zoom!" as they reach for the zoom ring not knowing there is a switch on the front to enable it. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRIIINNDDDDDing sound.

Do you use Nikkor with all your dvx work on your demo reel? It all came out so nice. What school do you attend?

Whoa, I just checked the price of that adapter and its only half the price of a Letus Extreme. Is that true? How does that adapter compare to a letus? Because your footage with it looked amazing! Theres no image flip though right?

Are you sure you didn't look up the price of the Letus Ultimate? It goes for over 4,000 USD, and the SGpro is only about 1,200 USD after everything. The Letus Ultimate is apparently in a leaugue of it's own, which is why it is so expensive. The Letus Extreme is only a little more than the current SGpro that is out (which is what I use)

Don't think it comes with rods (or needs them?)

(Rails, Quick Release System, Nikon Mount, Case and extras cost me under 1200)

I went with the SGpro because of it's price, and the fact that I saw a whole ton of stuff from people who shoot with it before hand. At the time I had a hard time finding a lot of Letus footage so I went with SGpro and have not had any problems or complaints. According to the site they are done making the normal versions (the cheap ones) and now are focusing on the new version (the expensive one, but not by that much compared to the original version!!) which I am assuming will compete with the Letus Ultimate.

I must have done the currency exchange wrong, I thought the SGpro was = to around $600USD. And I was thinking of the Letus Extreme, its around $1,000 without the rails right?
