Hey everyone--

I'm getting ready to shoot my senior project for film school on a hacked GH2. I want to show people that you don't HAVE to shoot on a RED to 1. Have extremely sexy visual appeal, and 2. Get into film festivals.

I wanna hear what your favorite lenses, accessories (adaptors, sliders, etc.), workflows and hacks are, because I'm beginning my shoot in just three weeks.

For a little more info on the project: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/marcusmeisler/the-love-series-created-by-marcus-meisler

I appreciate the help!

That looks great! I agree that you can make something look just as sexy as a RED with a GH2.

I'm using Canon FDs and love the look on the GH2. I've been using indiSystem rigs inccluding a new job from them. I transcode into FCP with prores (hq) when using the hack or use 5DtoRGB. If you have anymore questions let me know.

Cheers!

What kind of look are you going for? The sigma 30mm 1.4 offers a pretty nice cinematic / film look if your going to be doing a narrative. I have some examples below in my sig if your interested in that kind of look.

If you hack the camera make sure you know how stable it is. Nothing will make you look more unprofessional than if you have to keep reshooting a scene because of "Write Errors".

Agreed. You should use the Sandisk 30mb/s 32GB cards.

Acually, if you're concerned about file spanning, the fastest card right now is the Sandisk 64GB 95MB/s SDXC (not the 32GB SDXC version).
You're right about the Sandisk 30mb/s 32GB cards, that's the next in line, but will not span on driftwood's higher bitrate hack settings.

I think you should create a thread in the user films forum. You are more likely to get people to pledge and/or follow your project, especially if you keep updating with the process of the project.

I just donated because I liked the fact that you put the photos and names of the others involved in your pledge video.

I know you have the vimeo link on your kickstarter pledge but I think you should mention it in the project information so people are more likely to click on it and see you have talent.

I also think you should have more pledge levels, especially between 1 and 50 but also between 50 and 200.
