I liked the concept and nice job on the roto. I missed the idea of the phonebook and the computer program - what were you communicating there?

I had about three hours to shoot and one day to edit . I wanted to get a for dummies book from the library but it was closed, 10 minutes late :(. Anyway I wanted to change the title of the book to graphic arts for the not so gifted or something like that. I had to use a phone book and little time to mess around with creating a title for it.

The concept is: in a colorless world this boy finds a book to show him how to create photos in color. He dreams about a world where he can change anything into color. The pencil is a metaphor that with the things we create we can add color or beauty.

That was pretty good. Advice I would give is that you took too long getting into the main story. The beginning could have been cut tighter. We see the book in his bag and we understand the black and white and no color idea instantly. The rotoscoping and coloring in the dream was very well done. With that glow effect on the yellow book though, I thought there was something magical about the book, and once he used it, the pencil became the magical item. That threw me off a little. And how did the kid get tired? He seemed to fall asleep because he had to for the story, not because he was tired. But I understand your rush and Ive entered in many short film online festivals and lost because of lask of time. Just wanted to throw in my 2 cents. Keep up the good work!

I too have the same desk...that's just weird...or I too am a cheap bastard. I have done a similar project (did an entire "Sin City" red dress number) but did it all in Vegas with the color corrector and a tiny bit of roto.

Did you use tracking to do the match moves?
