First Step

[liamthomson]

Hello All! Looks like a great forum!

Basically what i want to do is to start out making music videos (should be great fun and help to hone the skills for editing etc and shooting) and then move on to making some short films W/ dialogue (handling sound etc) and then hopefully one day a feature! (Everything!)

I have a smallish budget, a couple of thousand pounds maybe more and wanted to ask what gear you would recommend to get good results, at least for the first of the above endevours but if possible the first two...

Maybe a prosumer Canon? W/ firewire card on a decent new PC? Using Adobe Premier and After Effects?

Please let me know your thoughts on cameras and anything else!

Thanks!

I'd wait a few months to see what happens with new DSLR video cameras. This is really shaking up the industry. If you want to get started sooner than later, I'd look into the Panasonic HMC150.
