first review of new Zacuto Z-Finder V2

Thanks, I was just wondering when this would be out. I'm still not sure how this is optical finder piece is attaching to the plastic piece that is glued to the camera. Does it just snap on or does it slide on with grooves? This is a big improvement over velcro, but I'm wondering how this will wear the plastic after the 500th time of putting it on and taking it off. What's your sense about that?

it just clips on over it. To be honest am not that worried, the lifetime warranty means if it fails after the 500th time i get it replaced!

how would you compare the z-finder and the marshall as focusing aids for locked down shooting?

Got mine yesterday..... It is awesome... Let me just tell everyone here that this was my first Zacuto experience.... I always thought they were over priced but really wanted their stuff..Probably like everone else.. So.. long story short i had Couple beers on Sat night....next thing you know im clicking submit on my order.... On Monday I noticed they were 2 weeks out..but I needed it this week so I emailed to cancel my order... they told me they just got some in and were shipping them that day...apparently there was a glitch and it did not ship...so I emailed back and steve weiss responded and appologized then offered me the free item of my choice!!!!! then shipped both of them overnight at their expense... That my friend is priceless customer service!!!!

Regards

Glad to hear they're shipping. I'm really hoping to have mine for a shoot next week. I'm jonesing for it!!!

I used the z-finder today for the first time. Had a 7D on a Manfrotto 681 monopod and z-finder attached and it worked great. A bit hard to nail the focus 100%, since the LCD is enlarged and becomes somewhat softer, but it was easier than only using the LCD.

But coming from Nikon I'm still confused of the reverse focus on Canon lenses.
