FIRST PHOTO: Redesigned RED CAGE

It's not a "photo" but a 3d rendering of the 3d object.

right, but they did have an actual "working" prototype at NAB of the early version of the gun. Thats one thing Red has that is allowing them to move so quick on the development, a huge array of prototyping machinery so they can design and then actual rapid prototype a working sample all in the same day, see what works and doesn't, redesign, then try again. Allows them to skip generations of product devo in days rather than weeks.

The adjustable grips concept is the DV Multi Rig concept. And it is patent pending.

Just have to change the name to "RED Multi Rig..."

Danny.

Wow!!!

That's nice of you to give your patent to Red! ;)

Well, the "Red MultiRig" is waiting for the "Red Telephone" to ring...

Danny - a "Patent Pending" does NOT mean that others can't make products similar to yours (for all you know RED could have a patent pending as well). Only when the actual patent has been issued is your invention protected. I know you're just trying to protect your "invention" but you might want to hold your horses before you start bashing others. This community has helped you develop your products so chill out a bit.

EDIT: http://www.patentapplications.net/faq/faq13.html

A patent is merely a claim.

Even when issued and approved the patent holder must diligently protect the patent.

If not. It's worthless.

On the brighter side, I'm sure it will work out fine for everyone involved.

Just like in the movies! ;)

We have a new image of this thing, and I see the word "photo" and "image" thrown around alot, but this looks like a very good solidworks, or brazil rendering output from the kumputa. Has anyone actually seen even a non functioning shell or prototype?

The three handle one looks good. They should reverse the way the handles rotate though. Rather then rotating backwards they should swing forward and allow you to lock them at different angles. Might even be cool if they telescoped a little bit.

Yea - If they went into telescoping and angles then when you when extend and orient the handles straight backwards - it acts more like the gun (shoulder rest). I'm sure there are other approaches for making one compact design that could work in the hands and on the shoulder - wouldn't that be new too?

PS. I like the new straight angles on the cage - makes it look less toyish terminator, and a bit more pro and functional.:love4:
