EVS's camera, should get mine next week. So far my footage seems to suggest an ISO of about 250-320 depending on WB. Daylight seems slightly more sensitive. My friend/DP Dave Fairbanks is going to be testing the camrea tomorrow while I key all the footage from today for my AE guy to pop in.
More thoughts on noise...
I like the noise this camera produces, you have quite a bit of control over it both in quantity and quality. Like the DVX or any video camera exposure and noise go hand in hand. Luckily, high key or well lit scenes show almost none, as expected. Low key scenes have a bit more but not at the expense of detail. I actually find the +3 and +6 db gains to be downright beautiful in lower available light settings. They look like a fast film stock when combined with cinegamma_d.
If you absolutely have to have clean low light then by all means get a 2/3" SD or HD cam, but the HVX is such a versitile tool I think it could create just as nice an image but with a less electronic feel.
By the way, I have yet to see that horizontal blocking that everybody was bitching about before.
My 2¢ so far.
