First day with SGPRO/HVX

Hi, the footage is funny, you have crazy friends :)

I assume this is a second hand Rev1 unit you've bought? I can tell from the footage straight away.

You will notice the soft edges, barrel distortion and a little chroma seperation, also the bokeh is not as good as the current SGpro Rev3, all things that have been solved on the newest revision.

You can get great footage though. A tip to get sharper edges with the old Rev1 is to close down the HVX's iris. The more you close down, the sharper the edges will become (assuming you have enough light).

Hi Wayne,

Yeah its a REV1 I bought from Kyle Kallenbach, Its a great adapter- its probably more user error at this point...

I love the rev2 and 3 footage but you know despite the minor flaws I still love the look it gives, it totally changes the hvx's capability.

I set it up based off of your rev2/3 tutorial online, but the different tube design kind of confused me... Right now I have the tube just pressed into the step down rings, I see no threads so I assume this is right...

I aligned the unit but its slightly off, just a tad to the point where I can nudge the adapter into the rings, but I'm wondering if this is effecting my edge sharpness.

Overall an amazing adapter that allows me to produce a better quality product

Thanks Wayne

For the slowmo stuff I shot at 60fps/250 shutter

The rest is 24pn @ 1/48.00

For the TheDukeof18 I shot 18fps @ 250 shutter

Thanks for watching!

Great job JS!

I'm so glad you got it set up ok and it's working out for you.

Looks awesome.

Thanks Kyle,

The unit is in near perfect condition-
I'll keep posting more footage as I get better with it.

Best of luck with your hpx500
