boom mic or handheld for concert?

hi,
i am going to record the performance of a choir.
unfortunately i don't have professional equipment available, so i will have to do with what i have:
a boom mic azden sgm 1-x
2 shure C606 (handheld dynamic)

i basically have the following options:
1-mono with the azden
2-mono or stereo with the shure's

i did some tests at the reharsals and it came out that the boom mic captures more the low freqs while the other captures more the high ones. there's a definitive difference between the two. it feels that in both cases i'm missing something.
so i came with a third option:

- using the azden one 1 channel and the shure on the other. and place the two mics very close to each other on stands pointing at the center of the choir in a way that the directionality covers all the singers/musicians.

Is this a reasonable solution? if yes, should i eventually combine the 2 channels in some way or keep them separated on a sort of stereo (where most of the low freqs would come from the left and the high from the right)??
i tested this configuration as well ans results were decent to me.

what do u guys think?

Sorry to say they probably are both going to sound like crap. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the on-board stereo mic might sound better if you can prevent it from clipping due to loudness. A shotgun (if that is what the boom mic is) is not meant for recording music, an d that dynamic mic isn't really meant to record ambient sound with (when the source is farther away). An omni lav might pull a better recording than either of those mics? In an ideal situation, you'd have access to a stereo pair of cardiod or omni mics.

thanks for your help.
anyway, since, as i told you, i dont have other mics available nor their budget can fit extra equipment rental, i'll do option #3, which, at a second listening session, gave the best results..
I have to tell you, it wasn't that bad..

using the onboard mic is not a valid option since i'll be positioned with both cameras at the end of the room. i would just capture an orgy of reverb and people noise.
