First day with 60d

Had the first chance to take the 60d for a spin. It was my first crack at shooting video on a DSLR, it definitely felt a little different. It was difficult to focus while shooting handheld. Overall I'm excited about learning more.

I'm still not sure about the whole color style conversation. I shot in neutral, with the sharpness, contrast, and saturation dialed down. But it didn't really seem to look that different to me. Also, I still need to learn a lot about grading. Is anyone out there using Color Finesse in After Effects? I liked using it, but it wasn't very helpful for trying to match shots. I'd like to give MB a try, but don't have that kind of cash.

Here's my first quick test:

I liked it. Especially for the fact that you shot an activity which was a story (sort of) as opposed to a static shot of scenery or architecture or the like.

Yes, bit of a sudden cut off, seeing the finished product would have rounded the story off nicely.

BTW check out DaVinci Resolve lite from Blackmagic Design, it's free (Yay!) not time limited or watermarked, just a cut-down version of the real thing, and it'll run on windows or Mac
