First attempt at DVX100b

I'm going to be doing almost the exact same shot for a short I'm making coming up. Is there a better way to do that other than split screen? I've heard its possible to do that in a NLE by itself without any kind of camera work or split screen. Here's a PM I received explaining how it is done.

they are called garbage mattes in fcp but I use vegas too.. Go to video event pan and crop or whatever its called then click the box that says mask there you can mask out the parts you dont want.

Reading over it though, I think we were talking about the exact same thing that you did here, just not split screen... I'm not sure, but I do need to find out the best way of accomplishing this soon. Thanks.
 
For those that don't know how, learn to use the grabage mat. It's a powerful tool!
